Muck Buildup Prevention
At Holy Divers, we target aquatic weeds at their roots, thus preventing future regrowth and reducing late season decomposition around your property. When unpicked weeds begin to decompose in fall, they form sludgy layers of silt and muck which leave your lake bed messy and undesirable–nobody wants to walk through muck! After our signature weed removal process, there won’t be any weeds left to decompose, saving your lake floor for everyone to enjoy in summers to come.
How chemicals make the issue worse:
When aquatic herbicides are applied, if they work, they merely speed up the decomposition of weeds instead of actually removing their nutrients from there lake. When these chemicals are applied consistently each summer they cause excessive muck buildup on your lake floor. Enough chemical application and mistreatment of one’s lake floor my result in a need for dredging, or essentially underwater vacuuming of submerged sediment. This is a very expensive process that remains frowned upon by state law, thus making it hard to execute.
If you have existing muck or sediment buildup, ask us if your lake floor would be a good candidate for muck reducing enzymes or an innovative phytoplankton treatment.
