Bog consists of condensed decomposing plant matter, or peat, that has accumulated over many years. It is aged, acidic, and low in nutrients. Once removed, bog will not return for many years, especially if lake weeds are removed and muck levels are under control to prevent buildup on shoreline. 

 

Most large bog sites require a DNR permit for extraction. This service is charged hourly and varies in rates between lakes. Check out some satisfying examples of bog removal work below!
